JEN LARVICK - LEAD TROMBONE
Jen Larvick has been an active musician since she started taking piano lessons at age six. As a music student attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Jen was a member of several different ensembles, including the University Jazz Band. While a member of the UIUC Jazz Band, Jen performed with several artists including Stanley Turrentine, Ed Thigpen, Bobby Shew, Ron Bridgewater, Bruce Paulson, Joan Hickey, and Joel Spencer. Since graduating from UIUC, Jen has performed with many groups in the Chicago area. She has also taught high school and elementary school band, private lessons, and served as a piano accompanist at school solo and ensemble contests.

AL LOEK - TROMBONE
Al has been part of the Chicago music scene for many years with groups ranging from classical to German oompah bands. Retired from his day gig, he has more time for music including the occassional practice session. "Al is pleased to be part of the Jim Guter Big Band and hopes his extensive experience contributes to the success of the project."

GARY STEERE - TROMBONE
Gary is the fine 3rd trombone player of the band. Gary has been playing with the band since its inception where he auditioned on trumpet, failed, and was provided with a less noisy instrument instead. Gary is revered in the trombone section for knowing the slide positions for all the notes.

GARY GALLT - TROMBONE
Gary is the fine bass trombone player for Jim Guter's Big Band. He was awarded the bass trombone chair after demonstrating that he has the longest arms in the entire Chicago metropolitan area. As some of you my know, long arms are required on bass trombone in order to play those really low notes.
